Cleaning Tips on the Cheap: Using One Ingredient for Multiple Uses

Have a dollar? Invest in Dish liquid detergent.

  • Cleaning Floors: Use a drop of Dawn in water to clean ceramic tile and no-wax/linoleum floors. However, don’t use the solution on wood laminate or hardwood floors as residue may dull the finish and cause streaking.
  • Cleaning Carpets: Use vinegar, water, and a little Dawn dish soap to clean your carpets.
  • Cleaning Windows: Mix 5 drops Dawn in 2 gallons warm water for streak-free window washing.
  • Cleaning Mirrors: Mix 3 drops Dawn in 1 gallon water and fill a spray bottle with the solution for a clear reflection.

There’s even a rumor that Dawn can even be used as a flea killer!

And…just in case you’re unwilling to spend that one dollar, you can get up to $25 in savings for Dawn and other P&G home products when you sign up to receive their coupon booklet online.

The “Home Made Simple” coupon booklet will include coupons and deals to some of the household P&G products, including Swiffer, Cascade, Febreze, Mr. Clean, and yes, Dawn.
